window time
Last night we had probably only the third rough night with Levi since his arrival 3 weeks ago. For the most part, he’s an extremely predictable and easy baby. But there are always those nights with a newborn. Ones where you’re wondering why they’re wide-eyed and ready to play from 1am-4am. Matthew kindly took over this shift for me as I shuffled to the den to get a 3 hour stretch of sleep on our lumpy couch.
So here we have Levi trying to get some window time today. Trying to wake him up long enough to stare at the blue sky and realize it’s day time, in hopes that at 1am tonight he’ll realize it’s night time. It doesn’t look like he’s very into our plan though.
Otherwise, we’ve just been enjoying our Saturday together – at the park, at the coffee house, and cozy book reading and block building in our den. A surprise care package from my Aunt Jacqui came for Brighton and Levi just in the nick of time…right about meltdown time for Brighton mid-afternoon.
He was having a particularly insecure day and in need of some extra attention from his mom and dad. So the fun package filled with books, cool cups and new animal bibs was just what he needed.
He also needed some extra cuddle time with his Tig-Tig, who we let B carry around most of the day instead of confining the germ-magnet stuffed creature to the crib. He has this funny habit of smelling Tigger right on the nose and breathing in these long, deep breaths as if he’s sniffing drugs or something. This would be fine if he kept it to himself, but he likes to shove the smelly beast at Matthew and I, forcing us to partake of the stench with an affirming, enthusiastic smile. I think Tig-Tig’s due for another bath.
Old man Professor Brighton, in the making…especially with that awesome potbelly

He so totally looks like a professor….or a scottish sheep-herder or something! Glad you are getting Levi accustomed to the tanning bed early on. You never want a man to be insecure about his feminine side! You sound well. I am so thankful that God has given you a mellow little fellow the second time around!

I just pulled this up one more time! Every picture is priceless. What beautiful children you have. Can’t get
over how Brighton looks in that sweater. It’s Monday here and Mondays
are not my favorite days…I’m always
behind before I get out of bed….and
that done reluctantly! Love..GM
