no road trip for us

I am the dead weight that forced us to drop our Virginia excursion this weekend. I woke up still feeling ill this morning, which was the determinate for whether or not we’d make the 7 hour trek up to Charlottesville for the graduation excitement. Including the infamous Hall pig roast put on my my dad this evening…sad day. And an open bar, live band party tomorrow evening for which my sister had secured us a babysitter.

We are more than officially bummed right now.

Not only that we can’t be apart of celebrating with Emily, but also because we are just so sick of being sick. And hoping that this is just the first year of living in a new place, and not that we’ve picked up some evil curse that condemns us to living this life of constant illness.

So party on without us, sister! We love you and are SO PROUD OF YOU!! We wish we could be there. We’ll just have to have a graduation reenactment at the beach in a couple weeks. Dad & Callie can play a little graduation ditty on their mandolins. John can toss some confetti. Mom can work up some fake tears. Matthew can make snide, sarcastic remarks. And I’ll dress up as Mr. Collmus to officiate the ceremony. It’ll be hot :)

hoping that when we saw you in the car tonight, you were feeling as good as you looked. I’m so sad that your family has endured all this so far this year. Today I prayed for your beach week.
