new house! new house!
NEW UPDATE!! The pictures are up. Find them here on my flickr page.
Brighton ran laps around our living room, shouting at the top of his lungs. Opening every drawer in the kitchen. Climbing in the cupboards. Exclaiming over and over, “New house! New house, Mama!”
I think it’s safe to assume he is just as ready to settle in to our new home as we are.
The boys and I just returned from seeing our house for the first time in it’s renovated state. We left Matthew behind with the inspector to pick apart all it’s faults. In my current state, I didn’t want to be there for the nick-picky details. I simply want to know it’s livable at this point.
After seeing the beautifully restored hardwood floors, the gorgeous new bathrooms, the dreamy kitchen I would have never believed I would call my own, I felt a small sense of relief. We will soon be home. We will soon be able to rest. We have been given a haven that is so much more than we would have ever dared to hope for a few months ago.
Matthew is snapping pictures as I write, so stay tuned to see the incredible renovations these folks accomplished.
On a side note, if you’re the praying kind, please keep us in your prayers. There are a lot of details still to be completed with the closing next Wednesday. Matthew has one of his biggest projects due in a little over a week – yes, right in the middle of all this move stuff. He is exhausted and stressed out beyond belief right now as he attempts to lead his business and our family through this time. Brighton has developed a miserable cough that is obviously wearing him down and stealing his sleep, which he desperately needs. And I had to make the impossibly hard decision last night to not go to CA for Papa’s funeral this weekend. I can’t let myself feel the weight and sadness of that decision right now, but simply had to take everyone’s advice that the trip would be too much for us currently.
We are quite the motley crew at the moment.
Thankfully Christ is in to the motley crews more than the starter teams, and has much grace and energy to offer us and carry us through this time, even if we don’t currently believe it or feel it.

Oh, And I wanted you to know I have an idea of how you feel with your Papa passing on to heaven and not being able to be there for the funeral :( ...I was in Ireland when my Mommom passed away (my mom’s mom) and I couldn’t be there :( I’m praying for you.

love the house… older homes have so many eclectic touches- phone cubbies, thick molding, and what I truly love about your house, pull out seats. They are random, but adorable touches I imagine kids just love.

Enjoying hearing all your moving news…except for the stroller part. I was so bummed out, I had to let Pat know the whole story. The house looks cozy already, so furniture and all the touches will just perfect it:)
