just say no to pears
Okay, so B isn’t quite as accepting as I thought. Even though he scarfed down his sweet potatos and cereal…I think the picture is proof enough that he is NOT a fan of pears. Or any fruit we’ve tried thus far. I tried mixing in some applesauce with his sweet potatoes and even I couldn’t taste a different. But our sensitive palet boy would not be foiled. I think the theory that what you eat a lot of during your pregnancy, your kiddo will like, is absolute bunk. All I craved and ate was fruit. All nine months. What do the experts ever know?!
Brighton’s new fascination is those little white tags stuck on everything. All his toys, stuffed animals, washcloths, bibs, he’ll manage to find that little tag and go about sucking it down to some pathetic frayed strands. I got him a few fun bath toys…but what does he want? The washcloth tag to suck on, dunk under water, and suck on some more.
He hasn’t quite gotten the concept of water yet either. The other night he attempted to retrieve his sucken washcloth on the bottom of the tub only to find himself shocked by a mysterious wall of water creeping into his eyes, nose and mouth. I could have spared him the confusion by getting the washcloth for him, but it was pretty hilarious.
We’re looking forward to a lazy weekend ahead of us. Both my boys are taking full advantage of that – still in bed here at 9am. I’m just glad we’re not faced with a wall of snow outside this Saturday and that we’ll be able to see our friends tomorrow morning at church after a 2-week hiatus. Transitioning into this working-from-home-mom thing has got me realizing just how much I need people interaction. Or one of these days, I just might start making up some imaginary friends or something creepy like that.

Betsy loves tags too! Glad she’s not the only one. We’ve only tried Bets with cereal so far…it’ll be interesting to see what she will and won’t like when it comes to baby food.
Brighton sure is a cutie! :)

Thanks for your sweet call, Amy. It meant so much to know and be reminded of your prayers this past week. It was really hard. I’m not sure what God’s got going on, but it’s making me realize ONCE AGAIN how much I desperately need him and how ridiculous and impossible it is without him. May God forgive my self-dependency. Love you. Hope you soaked in some sweet fellowship Sunday.

I feel you, B. I don’t like pears either.
