happy halloween

Last night, after a long, difficult week, we tucked our snotty-nosed, puffy-eyed boys into bed, drank a cup of tea to soothe our sore throats and sat on the counter together wondering how we were going to pull off our long-awaited Halloween bash.

Against my meager pleas, Matthew made the executive decision to cancel. The massive pots of chili and cider head to the freezer. The halloween cupcakes and “mummy dogs” to be consumed asap. All the planning futile. But at least we get to rest tonight. Putter around the neighborhood with our decked out boys and head to bed together at an early hour. Hoping the recouping comes soon for us all.

Hope the rest of you have a fun and cozy Halloween together :)

Brighton’s been counting down days to the great Halloween bash with a paper chain, so we’ve tried to make the day special despite the fact that there will be no party. We decorated our cupcakes and made pumpkin-faced pbjs. We also set out his costume in anticipation for tonight, which he decided he would NOT be wearing, stating, “No mom, I’m not a cowboy for Halloween. I’m a BOY”.
