Grace in Small Things: Day 296 of 365

1. A day long excursion to Atlanta sans kiddos on a rainy Saturday. IKEA here we come!

2. Mornings with our welcomed toasty fireplace once again.

3. I am a coffee woman through and through. But there is a weakness growing when it comes to Yogi’s new Green Tea Kombucha with plum and lemongrass. I typically scoff at tea-lovers and their certainty that tea can be as complex and interesting as coffee. This is making me a believer.

4. A warm past few days allowing fresh breezes to blow through our open windows before we enter stuffy, stagnant indoor air in a few more chilly weeks.

5. The little reminders He’s with me. Like this hawk that decided to come hangout by my kitchen sink as I washed dishes.

Wage a battle against embitterment and take part in 365 days of Grace in Small Things

That bird is huge! I love watching the birds at our house. I wonder how you get hawks to come…. Maybe a bird feeder full of mice??

I am Amy Smith

Amy Smith and Family including Matthew, Brighton, and Levi

I’m a mother of two minismiths (with the third having beat us all to heaven, lucky duck), wife to Matthew, crazy-loved daughter of the King, and fervent believer in the healing power of bluegrass music.

As healing and growth has blown the lid off 2009 for our family, we stand amazed at the overwhelming love of our Father and his sweaty diligence in sawing away the dead branches this year. It was messy, trust me.

2010 has continued to press us hard into Jesus as an unexpected pregnancy put a halt on our adoption plans, leaving us overjoyed with anticipation for minismith #3. Only to find out Jesus had called her back to Himself 9 weeks later.

We now stand with our hands open, asking Him to fill our aching hearts with Himself and lead us on through this season of healing.

You can find my random daily musings on twitter.
