Grace in Small Things: Day 107 of 2009

1. Dirt under my fingernails from planting our herb garden. Mmm, I can almost taste Mom’s delicious pesto with all the fresh basil we’ll hopefully be gathering.

2. Pulling out earthworms for B to examine with his massive magnifying glass before tucking them back under our heirloom tomato plant to do their good work.

3. Hanging fresh laundry out to dry in the sun. Thanks to the 40 ft. retractable line now attached to the treehouse and the beginnings of our trellis. My grandmother was not lying when she said it is one of the most soothing, cathartic experiences of the day.

4. The new sandbox Matthew and I built that has kept the boys entertained for hours already in it’s first short week with us.

5. The warmer weather that now permits riding to the park with boys in tow, nestled into our tiny bike trailer. A quick 2 minute ride is much more fun for all three of us vs. fighting to get boys into the stroller which they constantly want to get in and out of.

If you can’t tell, yes, we are FULLY enjoying the coming of spring.

In so many ways it’s been a reflection of where our family is at and the “spring” that has come to our house after a wild couple of years.

We are resting in a new way, soaking up the warmth, and rejoicing in the new growth coming up in our lives.

Hey AC-

Glad to see you posting again! I am the worst commenter, but a tried -and-true faithful reader. Hope this weather puts a spring in your step. Spring-time is always motivating and inspiring…after a long winter.
