fun in the sun
I know, I know, fellow southerners…I should NOT complain about the torrential downpour we received all day long yesterday with the whole drought situation and all. But with toddlers, it is a whole different (and cruel) ballgame.
Rain causes their energy level to soar and their crankiness to rise about 10 notches. And while on any normal sunny day, they would have been happy to sit inside watching videos, they now want to know why they can’t play in the backyard, or walk to the park, or go mow the grass. It’s like laying down a rule…it just makes you want to break it. The rain just seems to taunt them.
While the morning started off dreary and cold, the sun finally broke through, offering us a few good hours of play time before afternoon naps. Hopefully this glorious fall weather will stick around for our friend’s Octoberfest shindig we’re headed to this evening. I might just eat my entire pumpkin cheesecake on the way to their house.
Some pictures of our afternoon. (And don’t worry grandmothers, there are plenty more on our Photos/Flickr page for you to drool over)
