a different morning

A typical morning around here usually involves chugging down a massive mug of coffee while feeding kiddos, scraping oatmeal off the floor and out of hair (Levi’s, of course), then shooing them away to play in their room while I... Keep Reading...

warm weather eating

Matthew has a thing for gazpacho. I have a thing against gazpacho, namely due to my repulsion towards anything cold and chunky involving tomatoes. But I try to be a loving, serving wife (ha) and prepare his favorite warm weather... Keep Reading...

Our former Philly-turned-Louisville friends, the Deebs, made the six hour trek to visit us here in Greenville this past weekend. Despite the initial dreary weather, we managed to enjoy the great outdoors with our three (almost four, with Anne due... Keep Reading...

I am Amy Smith

Amy Smith and Family including Matthew, Brighton, and Levi

I’m a mother of two minismiths (with the third having beat us all to heaven, lucky duck), wife to Matthew, crazy-loved daughter of the King, and fervent believer in the healing power of bluegrass music.

As healing and growth has blown the lid off 2009 for our family, we stand amazed at the overwhelming love of our Father and his sweaty diligence in sawing away the dead branches this year. It was messy, trust me.

2010 has continued to press us hard into Jesus as an unexpected pregnancy put a halt on our adoption plans, leaving us overjoyed with anticipation for minismith #3. Only to find out Jesus had called her back to Himself 9 weeks later.

We now stand with our hands open, asking Him to fill our aching hearts with Himself and lead us on through this season of healing.

You can find my random daily musings on twitter.
