cleaning him out of me
I wish it worked like that. The more active you were, the sooner your baby would decide to vacate your belly for the more spacious and exciting atmosphere of your home. But washing dishes for the hundredth time, rescrubbing the tub, and taking more than one daily walk to the co-op doesn’t seem to be doing much, other than increasing the intensity and frequency of the Braxton Hicks.
After yoga yesterday I could have swore something had been kick-started in my body to get rolling, but after a night of hosting friends and feuding over Settlers of Catan, I quickly forgot the contractions I’d been having and realized how much of a mind-game they can be. So I think I need to fill these next two weeks or so with lots of people time and sidetracking projects.
This weekend we enjoyed having Matthew’s childhood friend and groomsman, Matt, down from NYC for a few days. I think Brighton enjoyed having a new face around the house…or at least a newly enthusiastic book-reader to serve him.
Otherwise, not much else is happening in the ol’ Smith homestead. We’re just hunkering down, waiting to meet our little man, continuing to pray for health as I get over this sickness, and enjoying these last few undivided-attention-moments with little B.
38 weeks. Hopefully not too many more to go. I’m ready for someone else to take over dish duty for awhile. ( Okay, that’s an unfair comment, Matthew is the super dishwasher in our house, but it’ll still be nice to just lay around and at least not feel guilty for it :)

Amy, I gotta say you look awesome for 38 weeks! I like your name suggestions too… so, hopefully you’re proud and not too annoyed if we copy. :-)

Amy,
I am thinking of you and offering up prayers for your upcoming event! I hope all goes well, and I can’t wait to see pictures of the newest Minismith.
