care packages
No matter how old you are, I don’t think you ever loose that childlike excitement upon receiving a surprise care package in the mail. Opening our door this morning, we nearly tripped over the brown bundle sent from South Carolina, with much care and love from my Aunt Cathy.
It was filled with all of our favorites (how did she know?!) – goldfish for Brighton, gingerbread men for Matthew and a host of chocolate assortments for the pregnant girl in the family. We felt very loved and taken care of by my extended family this morning.
Brighton digging through the goods…
We’ve been enjoying our Friday so far with Matthew freelancing from home. This offers a much more flexible day which allowed for visiting with friends this morning and Matthew finishing some Christmas shoppping with B this afternoon while I enjoyed lunch with Mary, who’s wedding is quickly approaching in just three short weeks! I just picked up my bridesmaid dress that was being hemmed for the wedding and thankfully it fit with a little room to grow still! I hadn’t tried it on in the past few months with my new middle section and had taken a gamble by just buying the dress in two sizes up, hoping that would work with the expanding belly. And at least for now, it seems like it’s going to. Whew.
A random shot from our week of a progressive piece of artwork on our bathroom mirror. Matthew started it with the little square guy in the middle and we’ve secretly added to it each night for each other. Brighton’s down in the corner with his bear slippers on saying “Ball, ball, ball”, his favorite sign to do. And those noises coming from my belly – per Matthew’s interpretation – are the rumblings of baby #2 who never seems to take a break from his somersaults.
Hope you all are staying warm and bundled up. B didn’t transition out of his p.j’s until lunch today. That’s the way to go with this chilly weather, I say.

Amy Claire-
I LOVE th bathroom mirror pics. It’s so much fun to have those inside glimpses of humor in your marriage…the side of you only your spouse really sees:). We also transitioned into “real” clothes late today- with a new baby, there is really no schedule to adhere to, and the needs of everyone just don’t allow for early dressing:). Glad your dress fits…I have been pregnant in every wedding I have ever been in.

Brighton could not be cuter!!! And Charlie wears his PJs every day until after his morning nap. If mom is going to work, everyone has to make sacrifices! :)
