braving the cold
We can’t complain. This is the first real evidence that it’s actually January in Philadelphia that we’ve had so far this year. But still, today was pretty brutal. And of course, with Brighton starting to feel a little bit better, he was getting antsy from being indoors for three straight days. “Walk, walk, walk, walk”, the parrot repeated over and over at an all too early 8:30am this morning, when the effects of my coffee had just barely started to slowly trickle to my brain.
So we bundled up and headed to the park despite my tired body’s protests. Here are a few shots from our outing. There are a couple more under the photos page as well.
B’s praying pole… it is the playground at the Jewish synagogue next to our house and all. He’s a pretty culturally sensitive guy.
Digging with his bundled-up paw-like hands.
Enjoying the fresh air. “Freeedom! Finally!!”
Taking a coughing break.
No, the poor guy still isn’t all better. Today was kind of a plateau day. With lots of nose wiping, coughing attacks, and just generally being out of balance due to the fluid in the ears – causing him to crash into chairs and walls and trip on toys much more easily than before. Overall, he had a pretty frustrating, tear-filled day. At least the morning outing offered a few sweet smiles to start it off. And we were able to squeeze out a few more passing some time with various tips from you fellow moms – building couch cushion forts and dancing to my favorite album as a kiddo, John McCutcheon’s Howjadoo.
It brought back many fond memories of fort making with my little sister and laying on the field in front of the Tazewell County Public Library for live John McCutcheon concerts. It was a nice life being 5.
