As you might have guessed from Matthew’s previous post, we’re all a little wiped out around here. Poor Levi has had this wretched stuffy nose for over a month now, causing him to be subject to a tri-nightly saline drops & aspirator treatment in between his 2 feedings. To try and help the little guy, last night we recreated a mini rainforest in our tiny bathroom. Per the doctor’s suggestion, we blasted a hot shower for a few minutes, then added the steam humidifier, baby monitor, sound machine and Levi in his propped up moses basket stand. Cramped quarters, but at least it limited his night wakings to two. Hopefully he’ll recover before a mold invasion occurs. Above, is the sick little guy waking up after an afternoon walk yesterday with his ovenmit gloves on, which I thought were hilariously goofy looking.
With all the sniffles and dreary weather, we haven’t ventured outdoors much this week, but when I found Brighton feeding Mr. Fish his goldfish crackers this morning, I figured the boredom factor was getting to us all and some fresh air might help heal these sick bodies.
Off to the park we went. The only real outing we can manage with our stroller wheels. It was blustery and grey, but neither Brighton or I seemed to mind. I snapped shots as Brighton ran around waving sticks. And Levi of course slept the morning away in the Bjorn.
Brighton’s starting a new ghetto-boot trend around here…
Proof that nothing could ruin his morning at the park. Here he is brushing himself off with his sticks after face-planting off the slide. The picture doesn’t do his dirt-smeared face and clothes justice…
Pappoose with his mama…
All hell broke loose when we returned home, with both boys screaming and hungry simultaneously, but at least we had that morning breather to cling to as a fond memory that there are some sane moments in our lives these days.
I managed to shove down a plain chicken hot dog and a Luna bar for lunch amidst the chaos. No one ever told me that being a mom of two means you will never sit down for lunch, much less consume anything mildly nutritious between 8am and 6pm…or even eat anything all day for that matter. That you don’t get to pee until 6pm at night when one kid is asleep and the other is in the arms of his dad. And you can forget your 4 water-bottle-a-day-goal and just hope to be able slosh down a glass or two dashing through the kitchen with a diaper, attempting to catch your naked toddler who is peeing down the hallway. And who thinks this is an absolutely hilarious new trick.

Thanks for a glimpse of what is to come in my life when Raegan reaches toddler hood. I thought playing in her poop was pretty bad though, so I’ll get ready for running naked and peeing down the hall :) You keep me laughing, so thanks!

AC-
Levi is such a Brighton mini-me. I love his intense little eyes. And yes, I am craving the outdoors, but to be perfectly honest, it is gorgeous here. I thought I maybe shouldn’t mention it to you, but it is finally warm again. It’s coming your way, ever so slowly!!!

Wonderful pics, Amy. thank you again & again
for keeping us in the loop….Such personalities
your little boys have….Levi’s is coming thru even now….The gloves are fun….and the bath
room spa is a great idea. Hang in, little girl, you
are winning….Have written by e-m all my friends to pray for Laurel as she starts the Long
Hike…. It was hard to say good by to her last
nite knowing it will be a long time before I can
speak with her again…wondering each day how
she is faring. Rex is already a wreck and I’m
trying not to be one. Life would be so dull
without the lives of our grandchildren (and their
children) to brighten every day.
Love, Gran Manu’ere

Congrats!! Ashley and I are very happy for you two on the birth of your second child. I got your blogs at one time but for some reason it stopped coming. As I thought about you today, I Googled to find this and saw the new wee one. Very cool! I look forward to seeing your family grow (not necessarily in number).
