5:23am Thursday Morning

matthew staring at computer

Yes. 5:23am. And I’ve been up since 3:30. Poor me. This post will cover the following:

  1. How to avoid idiocy
  2. The Holy Spirit is a farting coach
  3. How to Loose your Temper and Find it Again
  4. The Launching of a “Revised” Minismith
  5. It will not cover what a wimpy man I am compared to my wife.

How to Avoid Idiocy:

A good rule of thumb for this, is not to get caught up in the “just one more minute of late night web design/renewal” with yourself. You are likely to stay up till past midnight when your wife and children would prefer that you go to bed at 10:00.

The Holy Spirit is a Farting Coach

I am convinced that the Holy Spirit is inside Levi’s body, teaching him to fart. And just because he’s the Holy Spirit, doesn’t mean it will be easy, Levi is human, he’s gonna kick against that instruction, but here in a few weeks, we’ll see some real results. Give me an F, Give me some ART, LETS STOP WHINING, Give me a FART!

How to Lose your Temper and Find it Again

Step One: Lose Temper
Get angry at your 5 week old son for not holding his head straight while giving him a bottle at 3:30am.
Step Two:
Accept a good flogging from the afforementioned Holy Spirit, whom you vaguely remember once being your FART coach, and gather together the truth that you are angry because you are tired, and you are tired (this morning), because YOU chose to stay up and work on web related crapola. You are angry, because you would rather be everyone else’s FART Coach than have anyone else respond to your needs with anything less than “YES SIR, GREAT IDEA SIR!”. :)

Launching of a “revised” Minismith*:

Please note, I am told this is not a redesign as some people in the family do not want their blogs redesigned. However, this is a revision.
Of note:

  • A new writer: (okay, I’ve written before, but now you can find my bad posts by going to the “papa” section.)
  • Categories: (You can now browse all the minismith posts by category. The cateogories browser also lets you know how many posts are in that category, or atleast it will soon, when Amy finishes going back through all the old posts. Also of note, is that you can see what categories the current post you are reading has assigned to it – just click “categories” next to the title.
  • A little further back: Now you can see the last four posts when you come to minismith, the most recent of which is displayed in the long and familiar way, but the three posts prior to that are now displayed by title in the “archive” list.
  • Links: Well, it was not a very “new” linklist before and I didn’t think that it reflected what Amy was really noticing or reading on the web, so we added a rolling link…roll. This is from the service called ma.gnolia.com which is worth checking out. Essentially its an online bookmark keeper/sharer. We just threw on two, but there will be more to come when Amy goes through her latest list of frequented sites here soon.

Around the corner (under construction)

  • categories by author.
  • Still can’t find that old article with John Hall singing like an old African American man? Well you’ll be able to soon, when the Search feature appears.
  • A signup feature that will not be handled by feedblltz, but will be delivered straight from amy’s sweet little email address :)
  • RSS feeds for all the goodies on this site (for those of you who know what they are or care to use them)

Don’t FORGET
Using Firefox as your web browser is a FAR BETTER experience than using internet explorer. Whether you are a PC user or a Mac user, Firefox is an outstanding browser, and here at Minismith I fully endorse it. :)

Very nice work, Matthew! I like it guys! You’re so “up” on technology. I’ll have to check out Firefox. Love to you all.

Amy Claire-

It always confuses me for a minute when blogs are re-vamped…takes a minute to get my bearings…great job, though! Hope your stroller-shopping is going well. I read in the news a while back that one of those mountain buggy strollers actually protected a little child when a section of a stone building fell off, and landed on he and his nanny. He was not even scratched, because the aluminum frame was so strong…!:)

I like it, the redesign is like a growing up of a talented, beautiful little child. Keep up the good work, maestro of the 1’s and 0’s

Our recent move from north to south has begun the next chapter in the life of the Smith clan, possibly the most trying and difficult as of yet…learning to become true southerners.
