Grace in Small Things: Day 285 of 365

1. That despite the weird southern fluctuations in weather – 80 one day, 50 the next – the south is a GREAT place to enjoy seasons without the drama other states have to deal with. Cold, but not terrible. Warm, but not Arizona miserable.
2. Friendship and community. Without it, we would be navel-gazing, self-absorbed narcissists.
3. Matthew’s mad design skills that enable him to barter with such fine establishments as Barleys (he’s currently working on a new site for them)…making sick days much more manageable. No cooking involved and a steaming hot pizza just plopped in front of us.
4. My crazy fun boys. I NEVER thought I would enjoy motherhood as much as I have this past year. So much so that maybe, just maybe we’re not done adding to the crew…
5. Rainy, sick days. No, I’m not crazy. Some of them are miserable, but some are sweet and comforting. Making chocolate chip cookies at 10am. Piling blankets and pillows on the floor for a movie day with two runny-nosed boys. Homemade mac and cheese in the crock pot. These are the days I’ll look back on and miss 20 years from now.
Wage a battle against embitterment and take part in 365 days of Grace in Small Things
