party of the year…well, thus far
21 Jan
Our good friends, the Deebs, wil be packing up and heading south this next week. But they’re not going out without a bang…true to Deeb-style. Tonight Matthew and I secured some babysitters (the wonderful Worthingtons! Thank you guys!!) and will be heading OUT, just like old times. Not that we haven’t had plenty of date nights/outings over the past few months, but this time we’re gearing up to really party and have a blast with our friends and their large gathering of cohorts. We’ll be feasting on the delicious catered North Third wings and dancing the night away with their d.j. They know how to make sure they’ll be missed when they leave :0)
With the close of this week, I can now look back and say, I am going to LOVE this working part-time from home. I think it takes just stopping for a bit to realize how frantic and crazed your life has become at times. I seriously think I was on the verge of burn-out. Thankfully Christ saw that before I did and got me out of the rat race of full-time work.
Matthew and I felt like this was the first week we could breathe easily. I could enjoy planning and cooking meals again for our family, the house could return to some sort of order, Brighton could feel settled just being here at home with me and not being transported all over the place, he could get used to sleeping in his crib and start going longer chunks through the night because of it, our home could start to feel like a haven and a rest again.
So we’re thankful for these changes, thankful for the hope of some rest for a bit, thankful I can continue doing the work I love, but be a full-time mom to my son throughout the day as well, and thankful we get to go party hearty tonight with all our incredible friends!
